Spring Things

I got hit with the flu, worst in years, as I do not remember the last time I spent an entire day in bed.  I'm still pretty down for the count, but can't stand lying down another minute, so today, I got up and started working.  Here are some cute things I got done before the illness kicked in.

Calico Boxes

Grace and I spent a day covering boxes in blue calico--I had this idea that I should use some of my fabric stash.  So, I used some of my fabric stash, and immediately panicked and went and ordered more fabric.  I am hopeless.

The Paper Dolls are Blooming

Just got a couple paper dolls in spring like settings done.

I've Just Stopped Pretending That I Will See a Color Besides Blue

Well, I was thinking spring things and the possibility of using pastel colors, so started with robins egg blue, but ended up adding in darker blues, I just couldn't help myself.  Next, my blue fabric stash is SOOOOO pretty that I had to wrap up a few things...Also, after spending yet more hours shoveling the apparently endless snow, I decided to put it to use in the photographs.  I nearly froze my fuzz off getting these, anything for art.

I Declare it Time for Robin's Egg Blue Paint

The sun is shining, the deep freeze mostly over, surely the robins will be arriving soon...This is the first off the assembly line with robin's egg blue paint, I find it very cheerful.

Clothespins and Spools and Blue Calico

I started going through my hoard of early blue calico scraps, which includes some tiny little scraps that I have no idea why someone saved them--until now.  I've had the best time wrapping up tiny clothespins and old spools with this gorgeous fabric that a wonderful frugal stitcher saved for me.  Some of the larger pieces now adorn toy rolling pins.  I also painted some clothespins and dropped them into various little antiques.

Back to Work and Of Course It is Blue

Well, while trying to decide on cabin primitive goods or pastel springs, I just got out the blue calico and had a hey day.  I adore the results...
