I love winter--but just up to New Year's Day, at which time I am ready to quit being cold and slipping on ice. Unfortunately, nature in Iowa doesn't work that way, so I've shut myself up in my warm house and started working on spring primitives.
a blog about antiquing in Iowa, the primitives I am selling on eBay and general life lessons

A Little More Christmas Decorating
The music room tree is done and I think everything is in place, at least in these 2 rooms--disaster reigns in the dining room and kitchen, but I have my pretty rooms to encourage me.

Christmas Decorating at my House
I still only have 2 rooms done here at the homestead, but I am going all out with decorating. After 10 years in the little house with barely enough room to stuff a tree in the corner and having to put everyday things away to make room for some Santas, I now have not one, but TWO trees, here is the big one in the living room.
I have the old fashioned 1950s style tree in the music room, will post photos later as it is not quite done. The cupboards in the living room are perfect to go crazy with putting Christmas everywhere, case in point:

I still even have room to go primitive along with the glittery, I am in decorator's heaven.

Christmas Rolling Pins, Eve Gets First Pick
I just finished more Christmas, oh, the workshop is bustling! The girls are helping me big time this year--they said they can't believe how tired they are--proof at last that my job is indeed exhausting and I'm not just a wimp!
These two early pins are one piece and handmade, they are $35 each. The two with the labels are factory made, not as old for $24 each.
This is a European pin and is $35, the bread board $28, the little sampler in the vintage frame is $38

My Living Room Ta Da! Moment
My living room is almost completely done (I still have to fix a small window, touch up paint and get the floors waxed)-- a triumph in blue and white, I think.
