I Hope You Saw Her Petticoat, Six Inches Deep in Mud

I do love a Jane Austen reference.  That line was all I could think of as I finally got to go out for a walk this week.  The melting of the ice made it possible to walk, but also turned into huge mud puddles that turned my jeans (the modern day petticoat) into water wicks and I was soaked at the end.  Still, it was so good to get out and move and not be frozen.

I put together a few more primitives before I go back to adding red into the mix.  I am of course working on blues too...

Primitive Pantry Goods in Brown Calico

The red things aren't lasting for more than a minute in the shop, so I know I need to make more of that.  In the meantime, I got sidetracked with my stash of brown calico and had a heyday wrapping everything I had in the house.  I do love this very primitive look.  I seem to have run out of tin things and a sweep of eastern Iowa shops this weekend was no help at all.  I love all things tin, so it makes me sad to be at the bottom of my tin barrel.  I am hoping I don't have to wait for summer flea markets to replenish.  I did find some nice bowls this weekend, all with pretty patina.

It is above freezing--just barely...

This is Getting Ridiculous--Spring Already!!!

This 5 degree crap has got to stop--I haven't had a walk in two months and I am so tired of dirty snow, ice and all the sand and salt still getting tracked into the house.  I may burn my winter coat when it is finally over--I never want to see it again!

I've been busy crafting spring things, hoping to egg Mother Nature on.

It is Getting Colder and the Reds are Done

March is staying true to form and coming in like a lion--4 lousy degrees today.  Spring, I want Spring now!  The old lamb better be on his way..

The reds are finished, and very pretty they are.  It is such a cheerful color.

Some of My Finest Work

I love my newest creations, all white and blue and exactly what I wanted.  In a week of mistake after mistake on my part in the store, mixing up shipping labels and sending wrong items to people, then having someone send a return, another of those saying something wasn't old that was (grrrrr)...it was nice to have something go right.
