Rediscovering Milk Paint

I bought some milk paint, always wanted to give it a try, should have done so long ago, I love it! It looks just awful on the first coat, but a little stain, a little varnish and perfect antique looking paint. Of course, blue is my favorite, but the black turned out nice too. I wish I had taken a before picture of everything, especially the blueberry crock, it was an ugly chipped up brown thing, now completely gorgeous. I got so many projects done, I will definitely have ebay fatigue by the end of this week. Now I just have to worry about the self appointed antique police who email-yell (you know those all caps notes) at me about painting antiques. Hey, they used to be ugly, now they are not!

  1. Those are gorgeous! Don't listen to the antique police...some things just need to be refaced! You did an awesome job! What is your ebay id? I would love to purchase some of your items!

  2. Robyn,
I'm still new to the blogging world, can't seem to find out how to reply, and will just hope this works. First, I have to explain my ebay user id, which is 6stringbluesman. This is because my husband started the ebay thing to buy guitars and I just took over his id and started selling. My store name is Catspaw Primitives and Music because he was going to sell his music stuff, but he never does. Anyway, the id is easy to find, just type in 6stringbluesman in the find member part of the site map. Thanks for the encouragement, so glad you like everything! (p.s., I already got my first antique police scolding for the latest listings!)
