Old Houses, Why Did It Have to be Old Houses?

We took a break from working on the house we live in to work on the house we don't live in, but want to sell.  Remodeling is even more horrible when you are doing all the work for someone else to enjoy.  More horrible still when it is really hard, dirty work.  The girls and I spent half of last week in the basement, which I avoided at all times when we lived there, because it is dark and damp and creepy.  We had to scrape the crumbling mortar from the brick walls and then smear wet cement over them with our hands--worst job I have ever done in my life.  I can now truly say I have suffered.  The last 2 days was spent painting spindles on the three porches of the old Victorian painted lady that has fallen on hard times--the elements really took its toll on the paint we seemed to just have finished (but it was really ten years ago).   I now hate Victorian gingerbread with a passion.  Hopefully, the memory will fade and I can enjoy the prettiness again someday.   I'll post some befores and afters later when I recover.

In the meantime, here are the new eBays.  Sales still slow--this summer has been awful on the retail front, I think many shops are having trouble.  Hoping for some good news for fall!
