Broken Wrists and Signs of Spring

A month ago, I was out scouting antique shops, when I spied an old house with an "antiques" sign out front.  The steps were cement, obviously an amateur affair as none of the steps were the same height, especially the last, which was at least 2" higher than the previous step.  I caught my toe on the edge and as there was no hand rail to grab, down I went onto the cement porch floor, catching myself with my hand.  I cried a little, but kept thinking I was over reacting--oh no, wrist was and is quite broken.  It is improving, as I can almost type, but will keep this short, it is starting to throb again.

Here are some spring things to list tonight and tomorrow...

Winter Blahs

It has been a typical January, trudging through the gloomy days, dealing with ice and snow, falling on ice and snow-- oh, does it hurt to sit down!  I have been trying to keep my mind busy with creating, which has kind of worked, but I really need a dose of sunshine.

I did go on a quest to find German kitchen toys and ended up ordering some from actual Germany (still awaiting that shipment).  I found a few things from my Iowa dealers at the frozen in the ice show in Anamosa last week, so glad it was worth venturing out into the arctic.

I have also been wrapping things in blue paint and feedsacks and calico--fabric scraps are everywhere!

Ready for Something New

I am ready to take down Christmas now, I thought it would be cheery left up, but it turns out that it is kind of depressing.  Onward and upward, I guess.   Today wasn't too terrible on the weather front, so I took a bunch of photos.  Here are my listings:

Filling the Shop

Christmas goods have still been selling, so I am leaving them up for another week, then packing them away.  In the meantime, I have been getting a few things painted and wrapping up anything that gets in my way with all my early blue calico scraps.  Winter is already getting depressing--I think I usually make it through January before I start sighing so much, but maybe it is always like this.

Anything Worth Doing is Worth Overdoing

I had to wait until the week before Christmas to decorate, but I went all out when I finally did the work.  I am rather pleased with my results and currently planning to leave it up until spring.

You Bloody Bastard Spam Commenters, Stay the Hell off My Blog

I write this basically for me.  I have a few followers, maybe 5 if I'm lucky.  I am so tired of removing crap comments from jerks trying to use my blog for their advertising.  Go away, you rat bastards.

CRAZY Busy

This has been the busiest Christmas season ever on eBay, I have been packing and shipping every day, so unlike the last few years, and oh, do I hope it keeps going this way!  My own decorating and shopping plans have been put on hold, and I am just now getting the trees up and the Santas are still in the cupboard.  Once I get done, I am pretty sure I will leave it up until April.

Here are two trees done, and today I tackle the music room and possibly shoveling out the dining room, which has been an antique disaster zone for two months now, as all my craft work has escaped the craft room and found a new home on every empty space in the dining room.  My husband is no help, as he keeps going to antique shops and just piles his finds on the floor in that room.  Hard to complain when I am just as bad, but I am going to do it anyway!
