Goodbye White Ears

My girl's pet bunny died yesterday, I have been completely unprepared for how upset I've been about it. Anna got little White Ears when she wasn't yet 3, he lived about 10 years, a very long life for a bunny. Grace was beside herself with grief, in between sobs she told me White Ears has been here my whole life, which of course, got me crying. Anna has been the stoic one, even though she is usually the one who crumbles, I guess she is growing up. They have another rabbit, Popcorn, and she has been checking on him every 5 minutes to make sure he is ok. I am going to take a hint from her and get busy to take my mind off things, never thought that furry little guy would be missed so much.

  3. We lost our 11-year-old dog to cancer about a month ago. We grieved harder than expected for many days. We still forget sometimes and think that he will come bounding into the room. Our pets are truly a part of the family.... I'm sorry for the loss of White Ears.

  4. Sorry for your loss. I'm very sure White Ears is in a place where he can run and jump and eat all the clover he wants. They do become part of the family and it is hard to say goodbye.

  6. Big hugs and bunny prayers being sent your way. I, for one, get way too attached to any animal sort of creature. I grew up on a farm, so you think I would have been "acclimateed." Uh - no. When a cattle had to "be taken away," they'd arrange for the truck to come in the wee hours so I wouldn't know and sob for days. Somehow, I always knew - cause they were all "animal people" to me. I've very sorry for Anna's and your loss. Wishing you healing and joy in the memories. Hugs ~ Robin
