Still Waiting....

Things have not come close to a peak here in Iowa, supposedly we are due at the end of April, on my birthday, in fact.  Not joyous news.  In the meantime, my husband has treated several people and they have all recovered.  The number of patients his hospital has been seeing has dwindled, which seems like good news, but the facebook crowd will certainly have none of it.  Just try being positive around that place---Jeez!

I was really surprised to still be selling on eBay, but that has dwindled as well.  I have been planting herbs and lettuces in pots, cleaning up the yard, taking walks and doing a lot of puzzles--I find them very therapeutic.  I have kind of been getting some projects done, not as many as I should.  One thing I put off forever was dying a box full of egg gourds.  It turned out to only take about 20 minutes and they are beautiful!  I don't know why I waited so long!

  1. Oh those blue eggs are beautiful! Curious how yo did them? Just with good old Rit dye? I make a complete and utter mess outta that stuff LOL. Glad to hear things are leveling off there...and that your husband is staying well despite his exposure. We are 2 days in a row now with no new cases confirmed in our county...but still no toilet paper. What the heck? And you're right...very little "positive" out there when it comes to this situation. Sigh. Stay well and safe ~ Robin

  2. I use Fiebings leather dye and just rub it on with a cotton makeup round. When I put the dye on the makeup disc, I can dye a whole bunch of gourds without having to wet it again, so the dye goes a long way. I did some gourds that looked like pumpkins last year too--the dye works great and dries really fast. In other news, we found the first toilet paper sighting in over a month today, maybe normalcy is slowly returning?
